
Musakhan
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons ground sumac
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Arabic flatbread (or pita bread)
Instructions:

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Chicken:
- Rub the chicken pieces with sumac, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and brown the chicken on both sides. Set aside.

Caramelize Onions:
- In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and sauté the thinly sliced onions until golden brown and caramelized. Add salt to taste.

Assemble:
- Place the chicken in a baking dish.
- Spread the caramelized onions over the chicken.

Bake:
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

Serve:
- Serve the Musakhan on a bed of Arabic flatbread. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with extra sumac if desired.
